A very welcome sum of  € 435.00 was collected last week for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal.  Morag would like to express her thanks, on behalf of herself and the Irish Red Cross, to our members for their kind and generous donations.

There will be a collection in the Clubhouse tomorrow Saturday 16th Nov. 2013 and on Ladies Competiton Tuesday 19th and possibly on Sunday 17th also.  Your donations will be greatfully received.  Our member  Morag O'Farrell is co-ordinating the Appeal as her son is in the Philipines with the Irish Red Cross.

Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

The humanitarian situation in the Philippines has reached unprecedented levels: 10 million people are in desperate need of help. 

The Red Cross has 400 staff and 2000 volunteers based in the Philippines. Local teams are carrying out emergency response operations in 25 locations around the country. 
10,000 tarpaulins, 4,700 disease preventing hygiene kits and emergency water supply equipment are being airlifted in to areas of acute need.

Although our Red Cross teams are reaching those in desperate need, the scale of destruction is so vast, the need so huge, we urgently need your help to provide more aid.
