Vincent Moloney scored an eagle on the 2nd hole in last night's Men's Midweek Competition (16th July) following on from Dave Bloomer's eagle in last week's Saturday competition. That's two eagles in a week so hopefully we can look forward to more before the summer is out.
The annual Across the Road Competition between Kilmashogue and neighbours Ballinascorney was a great success last Sunday (13th July) – great weather, golf and camaraderie. Thanks to organisers Deirdra Healy & Vivian O'Rourke from KGC and Mary Coffee and Alice McGlynn from Ballinascorney. Also to Rosemary Healy, Mary Coffee & Alice McGlynn who looked after the desk on the day.
Congratulations to Dave Bloomer who scored an eagle today on the 11th Hole for 5 points! Needless to say his fourball playing partner Dave Hennessy was smiling too!
Captain Jack's Away Day will take place on Sunday 31st August in Powerscourt Golf Club. The tee is booked from 1.45pm. Cost €45 includes golf, prizes and a 2 course meal. A list to sign up will be up in the locker room next week.
Please note that the President's Prize had been brought forward one week to Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd August.
Yesterday's Irish Times carried an article in the Commercial Section headlined "Bernard McNamara’s Kilmashogue golf club for €2.475m". The article referred to the sale of lands owned by Bernard McNamara which includes Ballinascorney Golf Club. The College Bursar, Sally Gibbs, has contacted the Irish Times regarding the error.
The fun social golf planned for Friday evening 27th June has been cancelled.
