Linda Warren has kindly offered to run another Saturday social lunch this coming Saturday 21st February from 12.00 - 3.00 p.m. This time there will be homemade soup and a selection of breads/rolls on the menu - very keenly priced at €3.00 - again all profits will go to the KGC Social Fund. Please come along and enjoy a leisurely lunch with fellow members. Come early to avoid disappointment - as they say in the ads - "When all the Homemade Soup and Breads are Gone - they are GONE"!
A group of over 25 members and friends took part in a 3 hour walk Sunday 15th February. The walk began and ended in Crone Wood Co. Wicklow and walkers experienced beautiful views of the valley, emerging at Powerscourt Waterfall. Thanks to Dave Carroll and Barry Jackson for organising. The weather over the weekend enabled week 4 of the Winter Tournament to go ahead. And this week players got out on Saturday and Sunday, even though Sunday's play was slightly delayed due to frost. Hopefully we will get a few more weeks in before the final , last year we only managed 4 weeks in total before the play-off. Geoff Brooks team still leads the way - see the results here
Great to get out for Week 3 of the Winter Tournament this week. Geoff Brooks team is still out in front but remember to get to the play-off you need to be in the top 4. The course was closed on Sunday so Sunday players were awarded 10 points each to compensate. See the results here
Well done and thanks to Linda Warren whose idea of a lunch KGC fund raiser made over €150 today. Thanks to club members for their fantastic support. Members who were not playing even came up to sample Linda's gorgeous soup and sandwiches with many ladies in particular asking Linda for her recipe for both her Courgette and Carrot and Orange Soup.
Team Harrington, Captained by Geoff Brooks is steaming ahead again this week. Dan Meaney's Team (Maguire Twins) put it a strong perforance and has moved from 5th to 3rd place. A very poor turnout from Team Lowry (Seamus O'Morain's Team) resulted in a fall from 3rd to 7th place proving that team turnout is crucial to stay in the top 4 with a chance of reaching the Play-Off. . Over 20 members and friends of Kilmashogue Golf Club walked from Bray to Greystones today with Dave Carroll. It was a beautiful day and we managed to walk off some of the Christmas excesses while taking in some fantastic coastal views. See our Facebook page to see some photos - Click Here
Due to the overnight rain the course was unplayable until 11am Saturday. The winter tournament will not go ahead however the 9 Hole Stableford Competition will proceed.
Here are the results of the New Years Semi-Open competition that was postponed until the day after due to poor weather and course conditions. Todays competition was played in far more pleasant conditions.
Ladies this years Round Robin Competition groups and procedures have now been drawn up. Due to problems previously regarding obtaining a final result Linda Warren has drawn up some new scoring rules which should make for a very exciting competition.
